Designed by D. Julián Garcia-Mayoral (Aymerich Golf Management), Calanova Golf Club opened in May 2006 and is a terrific addition to the ever growing diverse collection of golf courses here on the Costa del Sol. Already a big favorite with our clients Calanova Golf offers a really good test for all handicaps with some really interesting holes and layouts due to the natural contours of it’s surroundings. The course was built according to United States Golf Association (USGA) rules and regulations, with regards to the tees, bunkers, drainage and greens. Greens have an average area of 500 sqm. Players will find them very interesting due to the extraordinary shaping work.

There are a variety of fairways layouts. All of them are wide in the ball drop areas and clear, so that the players can see the obstacles before hitting the ball. There are also fantastic landscape views, including the Mediterranean and La Cala de Mijas Mountains at nearly every hole. A buggy sharing is included in the green fee as the course is quite hilly (but fair) and from green to tee on occasions is quite a walk so the buggy is necessary.

All in all, a great addition with very friendly and professional staff.
