Atalaya new course opened in 1992 and is different from its sister course in many aspects. More hilly than the old course and challenging as you progress into your round, The new course begins more gently between the fairways of the old course then progresses to being more difficult as you approach the foothills then eventually it makes its way down to the lower levels of the old course. There are several lakes to negotiate with narrow and sloping fairways which, makes this a firm test of your accuracy and course management. Both courses are walkable but as ever the weather must be taken into account. Buggy Information:
Buggy cost: 30€ Course Summary: Par 72 Old , 72 New Atalaya offers two courses the "old" and "new" and is also the official home of the PGA of Europe. Designed by Bernard Von Limburger and D. P. Krings in 1968 the old course has featured various revamps, which include the reseeding of its fairways with Bermuda grass. This parkland course has wide lush fairways guarded by eucalyptus, olive and pine trees and fast elevated greens. Because of its tee positions this makes the old course suitable for all handicaps. A very popular choice since its beginning.
